Branching out from the kid pics... No green thumbs to be found around here, but the glads and the tomatoes are doing well this year. Best Shot Monday hosted by Tracey over here.
There are many ways that I could remember this summer. Sadness, loss, stress and just plain tiredness did abound. As I was putting together this layout below for another LDD challenge, it hit me how much candid moments like I captured here really will tell the tale of this summer for our family. I have so many pictures of moments like this. So many. My girls are so full of energy and emotion, that no day is ever boring. Simple, yes. Boring, no. Their brother just adds a whole lot of laughter to the mix.
The girls will be in preschool 2 or 3 days a week in September and that will change things in untold ways. Elise is such a spunky, social little being that I know she will just love the newness of school and new friends and activities. Camille is just bursting with excitement to be reunited with her little buddies from school. They took her old class to visit the new classroom at the end of the school year and this has provided fodder for many wishes and hopes for her upcoming school year, endless recounting of all the cool things she will be able to do when she starts pre-K.
And Henry? I think the boy will be enjoying the quiet and calm. He is so enamored with and attentive to his sisters, though some days I'm not sure that he wouldn't compare it to a three-ring circus if he had that frame of reference! I'm looking forward to having him as an only, even if it's only for a few hours a week.
Ah, but we still have weeks yet left to this summer and I am savoring the quiet days as they pass. Afternoons like the one below are just plain fun. If I often wonder or questions why I do this? Why I blog? Why I take so many photos? Why I started scrapbooking? This is why. Next summer or three summers from now, I will be able to look back {as will they} and know that we just enjoyed the sunny days. Together. Simple as that.

I was scrolling through my google reader and noticed a familiar face. Go see! I'm so excited!
And in other scrap news, I'm loving the Digi In Deep Course and working my way through the album we're doing this week. Here's is one of the sketches I'm working off of. I loved Jessica's challenge to make templates with spots for 15 photos or papers. I'm amazed that I'll have Camille's baby book finished in just a couple weeks---a project that I couldn't seem to finish in four years time. {click on the Spraground link on the right for more info}
Oh and had time to make a couple hybrid projects for my sisters upcoming birthday. I'll share those next week as some certain 'stister' reads the blog. Hey, sis! ;-)
Henry was hesitant at first, but as per usual, whatever his sister is doing, he wants to follow along. There wasn't a lot of actual crawling *through* the tunnel, but plenty of clubhouse type hanging out with throwing of toys and blankets. His inclination was actually to crawl sideways, hamster style with the tunnel, but Elise vetoed that in a hurry. I love letting standing back and watching their sibling relationships unfold before me.

When is a raisin not a raisin? When your 2.5 year old hands you this yellow, gummy object and calls it a 'funny raisin.' Thanks SunMaid, she just started eating raisins again and now I have to explain why she couldn't chew this thing that looks like it has glass in the middle?? Yuck. How glad am I that she didn't swallow it?
All three of my kids have my eyes and I love that more than a little bit. I have so many vacation pics to choose from, but this is one of my faves. His eyes and the beach and me reflected in them. Playing coy peeking over daddy's shoulder is just a bonus. Love this boy! Check out some more best shots over here!
